Today, DRM Chandrapaksha Gupta of the Katihar division of the North-East Frontier Railway visited various railway stations of Siliguri. On Thursday morning, he took a review of Siliguri Junction, NJP and Town Station and also interacted with the railway officials.
He negotiated about the security arrangements on the stations, the complaints of the passengers including the surroundings with the railway officials.
Referring to the journalists, Chandraprakash Gupta said that security is being increased at various stations. Also, special attention is being given to cleanliness. Apart from this, a footover bridge will be constructed at Siliguri station. Lift and other works, including a footover bridge will be constructed at NJP station, and more importance will be given to security arrangements.
On the other hand, he also said that in many places these repairs have been stalled due to encroachment. These include Siliguri Town Station, where the platform is not being built due to encroachment. The help of the state government has been sought in this regard.
