SILIGURI: Evana Najnin, daughter of a poor farmer, has bagged a gold medal in Sanskrit.
Evana received the gold medal in Sanskrit subject from Gaur Bang University in 2015, from the Governor. Evana received 66 percent marks in Sanskrit.
According to sources, Evana resides in Tapan Police Station area of south Dinajpur. Her father Abdus Samad is a farmer. He feeds his family by working in the fields.
Evana is the youngest amongst her three brothers and sisters. Despite coming from poor backgrounds, her parents supported Evana in her studies. Evana is sitting for NET examination.
Besides her aunt, Professor Ajit Kumar Mandal of Gaur Bang University has extended his support for Evana to continue her studies. Evana said that her goal is now to become a professor.
Evana loves listening to songs and is interested in recitals.
