Dutee Chand, of Odisha, broke her own 100m national record at the 59th National Open Athletics Championships, being organized in the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, on Friday.
The 23-year-old Indian became the fastest woman of the meet with a timing of 11.25 seconds at the stadium in Ranchi. She had earlier set a record of 11.26 seconds at the Asian Championship in Doha, earlier this year. She also broke Saraswati Saha’s meet record of 11.43 seconds in the New Delhi nationals in 2002.
Meanwhile, Archana Suseendran of Tamil Nadu bagged silver with a timing of 11.54 seconds while Himashree Roy of the Railways bagged the bronze with a timing of 11.57 seconds.
