Darjeeling MP raises Gorkhaland issue in the House on the first day of the winter session

Siliguri, 19th November: Darjeeling MP cum BJP leader Raju Bista raised the Gorkhaland issue in the House on the first day of the winter session. He urged the government to intervene in the matter and call a tripartite meeting, once again, demanding permanent resolution of the demands, pending for a long time, of the people of Darjeeling Hills, Terai, and Dooars.


During the session, he mentioned that the Darjeeling Parliamentary constituency was very important from the point of view of national security as the area is Chicken's Neck. The MP further stated that a permanent solution will lead to peace and development in the mountains as well as the Terai and the Dooars.
