New Delhi, 09th December: Today is the second and last day of the Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists (CPRM)'s sit-in protest outside the Parliament House. The CPRM members firmly stated that they will not stay in Bengal and shouted out slogans such as, 'No GTA! No DGHC! No Sixth Schedule! We need Gorkhaland! Central Government, Fulfill your commitment!'
Addressing the gathering, CPRM Central leader Bindya Dukpa said that the party members and supporters are ready to cross all limits for the sake of Gorkhaland. Dukpa added that the party has been coming to Delhi repeatedly to deliver the petition and memorandum to the government so as to fulfill the wishes and dreams of the Gorkha people. "We will continue to come to Delhi to present our demands until our dreams are fulfilled," Dukpa further claimed. The CPRM leader also acknowledged the assurance given by the Darjeeling MP Raju Bista but also appealed to the common people to keep knocking at the MP's door and make sure that he fulfills his promise.
Likewise, Dr. Munish Tamang, National Working President, Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangha (BGP) speaking on issues said that a lot of negative comments were received after the statements made by the MP and the dharna staged by the CPRM went viral on social media. Tamang maintained that after the elections they held numerous meetings on the Permanent Political Solution and eventually all present parties agreed that Gorkhaland is the PPS for the HIlls. Tamang said that now, the government must clarify their version of PPS and if the government does not agree on Gorkhaland as the PPS, then it should be clarified what is the Government's version of PPS. Tamang added that just as the government took a bold decision to revoke Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and proposed bifurcation of the state into two Union territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, the government should also give justice to the Gorkhas immediately.
The meeting was addressed by Anar Subba, Nabin Tamang, CPRM Central member K. D. Rai, Bheem Gurung, Ramesh Khati, Lopsang Lama, Gorkha Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti chairperson Kiran BK. The program was also attended by Bodo Leader former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma.
