The two-day seminar for the Darjeeling district is being organized by the Centre of Indian Trade Unions at the hall of the Kanchenjunga Stadium from November 18, reports state.
The information of the seminar was shared with the media by the State Secretary of CITU, Saman Pathak, at the party office that is situated on the Hill Cart Road. The State Secretary also informed that representatives of all trade unions are expected to be present at the seminar.
Demands for the minimum wage of tea workers and Rs. 3000 for pension out of the Rs. 18,000 salary will also be covered during the seminar.
"It is due to the stuborness of the state and central government that the tea workers are facing the economic crisis. We will also be making an appeal to the tea workers and the trade union to be united," said Saman Pathak.
The State Secretary also shared that CITU will be protesting against the misbehaviour that has been inflicted upon the workers of Himul.
