The Crime Investigation Department ran a couple of operations today and successfully unveiled an illegal business of fake certificates, marksheets and duplicate stamps in Siliguri today.
Two business owners have been arrested so far, both of who have been accused of operating the business from their shops with the help of computers and printers. They used to develop fake marksheets and certificates that bore a duplicate version of the official stamp and were available to students for Rs. 2000-2500.
When the CID seized the fake marksheets, it was noticed that some of them were of the Madhyamik examination. The DCP of CID, Goutam Ghoshal, stated that the nabbed duo had been carrying out the illegal activity since long; following which they were arrested in two individual raids.
