Kurseong, 23rd October: During an administrative meeting held in Kurseong today, the State Chief Minister, said, “If you don’t like me, don’t vote for me, vote for local parties. Some outsiders are bribing their way through the votes.”
Mamata Banerjee held an administrative meeting with the officials of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts in Kurseong. She instructed the officers that all the unfinished works of the hills should be completed within three months. The Chief Minister stated that all the boards formed in the hills will be audited thoroughly. She maintained that she has provided a lot of money to various development boards for the construction of the houses. The number of houses built and those which were not built will be checked.
Banerjee stated that she will visit the Hills, again, to take stock of these works. She further added that the roads of Darjeeling should be repaired especially considering the large tourist influx. The route to Lal Kothi will also be repaired. Also, the Chowrasta-Mall will be made more attractive to tourists. Later, the Chief Minister visited Dowhill and assured to raise the Dowhill Secondary School to a Higher Secondary School. She also directed to complete the work of Presidency College soon.
