Bhaktinagar police raid an illegal call center in Siliguri’s ISKCON Mandir road area, two arrested

Siliguri, 25th March: Siliguri’s Bhaktinagar police raided a multi-storey building in the ISKCON mandir road area last night and arrested two people under the charge of running an illegal call centre.

Reportedly, the police conducted a campaign based on a tip-off and nabbed the duo who were apparently running a company under the name “Business to Business (B to B)” in Siliguri. The arrested persons have been identified as Prasenjit Manna and Vivek PT from Kolkata.

During the interrogation, the accused revealed that the company had employed about ten people, with a majority of girls. The police conducted the search operation and recovered 24 computers along with a register and important documents from the office. Police are currently engaged in further investigation.

It is to be noted that the Siliguri Metropolitan Police has been relentlessly campaigning against the black business of illegal call centres in the city.
