Awareness Camp In Malda For Alcohol-Free Society, Demand Note Given To Excise Dept.

The residents of Gaurshand Village in Maltipur of Malda’s Chanchal set up an awareness camp in the premises of Gaurshand’s Patharghata Primary School that carried the message of making the society alcohol-free.

Malda District Excise Super Nimai Biswas, Malda Division’s Excise Assistant Commissioner Gautam Das, OC Mukesh Jha of Excise Chanchal Circle and other officials of the Excise Department were also present in the camp.

In the camp, the villagers submitted a demand note to the Excise officials which read that along with making the society alcohol-free, arrangements for the welfare of the tribal community should be made and higher education options should be available.

During the time, Malda Division’s Excise Assistant Commissioner Gautam Das stated that the deep roots of alcohol cannot be weeded away without the cooperation of the tribal people.
