Amitabh Bachchan, who made his debut in Saat Hindustani, is set to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest award in cinema. At 76 years old, Amitabh Bachchan has added another gem in his already-bejeweled hat.
The news arrived via Twitter, on Tuesday evening, and was confirmed by the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar through a tweet.
The veteran actor was awarded Padma Shri in 1984. In 2001, he was honored with Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. He was also bestowed upon with France’s highest civilian honor, the Knight of the Legion of Honour, by the French Government in 2007 for his “exceptional career in the world of cinema and beyond”.
