According to a statement issued by the Union Home Ministry, the Aadhar Card will now be deemed mandatory for collecting the birth certificates. Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya will be exempted from the rule.
This will come to effect in the country from October 1, 2017. As per the Registry Office, the decision has been taken to curb identity-fraud of the deceased people.
All states and union territories of the country have been directed to collect all information from the related registration institutions before connecting with the Centre.
