180 employees of a private multinational telecommunications company have been fired without being served a notice, sources report.
The fired employees gathered around the customer care office of the company at Teenbatti More and staged a demonstration against the unannounced lay-off.
Anup Barman, who had been working with the telecommunications company said, “180 employees were laid-off without any notice. Our livelihood is at stake here.”
It has been found that an order to fire 600 employees had been issued. When the company’s Controller Head was asked about the issue, he did not respond to the questions.
