101 couples tie the nuptial knot in Siliguri mass marriage ceremony

A mass marriage ceremony was organized on Sunday in collaboration with the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram North Bengal society at Salbadi Birsa Infant Center in Siliguri. In this program, 101 couples tied the nuptial knot together.

The program organizer Rajesh Agarwal said that on behalf of the ashram, mass marriages are organized every year following the full tradition and customs. On Sunday, 101 such pairs were married. He told that to see the program, a large number of people came from the local and surrounding areas. All the couples married off were provided wedding gifts and household goods.

He said that along with that, food was also provided to ten thousand families who had come to witness the marriage ceremony.
