Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital Reaches Out To The Lesser Fortunate On World Sight Day
To mark the World Sight Day, the Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital organized a series of special camps and events at all of the 13 primary eye care Vision Centres of North Bengal to reach out to the lesser fortunate people and provide them with holistic eye care services under one roof.
Along with the primary check-up, spectacles were also given to the people who needed them. Moreover, the camp assured that the people who required surgeries for cataract were referred to the Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital- where they will be treated for free.
A total of 613 people came to the camps and at the vision centres yesterday. Out of these people, 223 patients were found to have refractive errors and 218 patients were referred to the main Hospital in Siliguri for their cataract surgery.
The SGL vision centres are located in Bagdogra, Islampur, Kanki, Domohona, Raiganj, Malbazar, Nagrakata, Banarhat, Birpara, Ghoom, Mirik and Devinagar Eastern Bypass Road.
It has been found that the Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital will be offering an entourage of affordable eye care services from October 9th till October 31st. The hospital is also offering discounts on OPD consultations and spectacles along with some limited surgeries and diagnostics.
