All Party Meeting Decides Gorkhaland Protests And Indefinite Strike Will Continue
The third all-party meeting was called by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha today in Pedong, Kalimpong.
In the meeting, it was decided that the protests and the indefinite strike called for the separate state will continue. Around 13 different parties were present during the meeting.
GJM’s leader, Binay Tamang said, “The protests for the separate state will now also be carried on in GTA’s areas of the plains and in Dooars. The Coordination Committee for Gorkhaland will now function as three-sub committees. The first would be a legal cell, second would be the Human Rights cell and the third cell will direct the path of the Gorkhaland movement.”
Moreover, Binay Tamang alleged that services of water, medicines and even baby food have been stopped from reaching the hills.
“If anybody dies during this period, then the blame will fall on the state government. We will now be speaking only to the Central Government for our demand of the separate state,” he added.
The fourth all-party meeting has been scheduled for July 18.
