Siliguri, 18th August: There was an attempt to kill a land businessman on Monday night in Siliguri’s Ward No. 38. The Siliguri Metropolitan Police have been investigating and looking for the attackers. The police have suspected that the attackers were contract killers who were hired to kill Vidyut Saha, the said land businessman. The police have taken a few people into their custody for further investigations. They also have got the pictures of the attackers who came on a motorbike.
Police officials are looking into the CCTV footage of the area but no clue has been found as of now. Reportedly, Vidyut Saha was also arrested a few months back by the police of Ashighar police outpost for illegal land trading. Bhaktinagar police suspect that the attack was carried out due to old enmity. On the other hand, the investigators are also suspecting that the attackers were brought from Bihar. DD along with the police of Bhaktinagar police station, Ashighar outpost has started an investigation into the incident. Along with this, the investigation is also being done by SOG.
