Constant Downpour Causes An Increase In River Mahananda’s Water Level
Due to the constant rainfall that the region has been experiencing since Thursday, an increase has been recorded in the water level of the Mahananda river. The heavy rainfall in the hills also contributes to Mahananda’s current state.
The situation is such that the water may possibly spill out on the roads as well. People have been warned to not get close to the water body and the administration has issued a notice to exercise caution. Despite that, children were seen collecting wood that flowed down in the Mahananda from the hills.
The increase in the river’s water level has created a wave of panic among the people who live near it. The people also gathered around the banks of the Mahananda to see the raging river in the morning today.
