CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SANCTIONS FINANCIAL GRANT FOR GIRLS HOSTEL IN PHANSIDEWA
Sanctioned by the Central Government, the construction of a new hostel for girls has commenced in Phansidewa, Siliguri. According to government officials, the hostel will be enlisted under the Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Scheme, which enables and encourages students of less- fortunate backgrounds towards attaining quality education.
The structure will be erected at Phansidewa Government Sponsored Ashram-Type High School. It will house 50 students with a certain unfixed number reserved for girls from Scheduled Tribes. The Government has vouched to bear all their expenses of food and lounging.
School officials reveal that the hostel will be inaugurated in a few months, hereby affirming the construction to finish before the year ends.
